Last Wednesday I met with some of my high school friends. Funny how we've been planning to meet up for a lot of times and only got to do so when we received a spontaneous invite from Enzo to try Silantro. He has tried dining at the Kapitolyo branch and he wanted to know if the newly opened branch in Town Center would be as good.

Silantro, found in the new building of Town Center.
We met around 7pm and had to line up to get seated. We were 9th on the list and while waiting for our turn, they gave us a copy of their menu so we could decide what to order.

The food is relatively cheap compared to most Mexican diners in the country. But even with the cheaper price, the quality is still good, or even better! I asked about the best sellers and they gave me around five to six choices. We ended up ordering five out of six from their recommendation.

Beef Nachos, Php 180.00. Sauce (from top to bottom): Garlic Mayo, Signature Cilantro and Chili.
This arrived first and I must say that Silantro probably believes that first impressions last because this was so good! The nachos were crispy, beef was soft and tender and the cheese was melted perfectly. I didn't even have to put a lot of the sauce (free refill) because the dish is already flavorful. This dish definitely made me look forward to the other dishes we ordered.

Calliente Wings, Php 180.00.
The second dish is sweet and spicy chicken wings. I think this dish is catered/adjusted to the Filipino taste because it gave a sweeter flavor than a spicy one. The vegetable salad on top felt like it was drizzled with some peanut butter sauce and was a perfect combination with the chicken.

Silantro's Burrito, Php, 180.00.
Enzo ordered this one and I just tried a small bite. The filling is the same as their paella and this dish already made me look forward to trying their paella (we ordered one but it was last to arrive.) If I need a quick Silantro or Mexican food fix, this is definitely what I'll get for take-out.

Silantro's Quesadillas, Php 160.00.
This was part of their appetizers but it arrived together with some of our main course. Nevertheless, this dish was worth the wait. This is my favorite from everything that we ordered. I love cheese and this was like a dream come true to me. The filling is melted cheese with chicken, topped with fries. Enzo said to try putting the fries inside and even if don't really like fries, I did. And boy was I thankful that I followed. It already tastes 100% for me, but with the fries as part of the filling, I already went to quesadillas heaven! So so good!

Silantro's Paella Fajita Mix, Php 250.00.
To say that I was full when this dish arrived is an understatement. However, I still wanted to try if the taste was the same with the burrito we had earlier. True enough, the paella is the filling of the burrito. No complaining though, because it's really good! The sticky rice is already flavorful on its own, and if paired with the toppings (boiled egg, mussels, squid, shrimp and chicken), it gives the perfect paella experience. The dish even comes with two soft tortillas, in case you decide to make your own fajita wrap! This is really a good choice if you're hungry as it is really filling and affordable.
Would I recommend this to others? Yes!
Am I going to dine here again? Definitely!
I am so glad that they opened a branch in Town Center because I won't need to go all the way to Kapitolyo for good Fil-Mex food at an affordable price! We really found true love at Silantro, thus Enzo came up with the hashtag: #SilanTrueLove!
