Tara, Takoyaki tayo!

One of my street food favorites is takoyaki. Back in college, before heading to my mom's office, I would always order from the grocery at SM Makati. I haven't tried any authentic takoyaki but that time it was good enough for me; it was filling and affordable - two of the things college students look for when buying food. But when SM Makati started their renovation, the stall was nowhere to be found and I got a little sad about it.

Luckily, after the renovation, a new takoyaki stall opened at their food court and it was so much better! It was bigger and chairs and tables were provided.

Hokkaido Takoyaki is located at the ground floor of SM Makati

Their takoyaki is a little more expensive than the ones I bought before: 6 pieces for Php 119.00, 9 pieces for Php 159.00, and 12 pieces for Php 199.00. But the price is worth it, it tastes better and is more filling. I first tried the original and had it for take out so I couldn't take a photo of it. Nevertheless, it definitely made me go back to try the other flavors they offered.

Kani and Mozerella Takoyaki

Look how cheesy!

Scallops Takoyaki

So good, so yummy!

Both Takoyaki flavors were good. The Kani and Mozarella was really cheesy but it didn't overpower the kani flavor. They complemented each other well. My mom liked it better than the Scallops Takoyaki. However, I liked the latter better. I'm not much of a scallops fan. I'd rather choose anything with mozarella any day because you can never go wrong with cheese, but the scallops gave the most umami taste for me. It definitely tops my list. If I'm in the area and crave for Takoyaki again, I'll try the other flavors they offer: (1) bacon and (2) cheese.

Do you know of any other Takoyaki places that I can try? Drop by your suggestions in my comment box! :)
