Althea August

I have been wanting to try Althea for the longest time but I didn’t have anything in mind that I wanted that I couldn’t get around here. I was also postponing it since I’m a little skeptic about buying online. So before proceeding, I asked some of my friends if they tried Althea and read about reviews from people who purchased as well. The feedback were good and sounded trust-worthy so I finally decided to try it.

I created an account on their website and found out that they give Php 300.00 discount for new members. The said discount is actually divided into half. When you check out your items, you’ll see a Php 150.00 rebate from your total and the other 150 go on your points (which you can use on your next purchase). They also have free shipping for orders above Php 1500.00! Althea promises to deliver the package in 10 – 15 working days.

Most of the items that I chose were on sale because I didn’t want to spend on something that I wasn’t so sure of. Let’s just say that this was my trial purchase haha! I was so excited to get my package and I really thought I would get it in a week, as most of the reviews said they got theirs within 3-4 days (which actually made me more excited, frankly speaking) but I got mine later, just before they exceeded the 15 days delivery mark. I ordered August 1 and received my package by August 16. The long delivery is probably because of the number of items I ordered and the bad weather we have in the country. I also thought there would be freebies because most Korean stores usually give out samples and/masks for free and some reviews mentioned that Althea do give some. Nevertheless, the transaction was smooth, the package arrived safely and was carefully covered in bubble wrap and most of all, I got everything I paid for.

Here are the items I bought:

Nature Republic Aloe Vera, Php 180.00

I love Aloe Vera! I usually get it from The Face Shop because it’s cheaper and has 99% aloe vera content on it but since this is my first time trying Althea, I wanted to get some items that I’m sure of as well.

CP – 1 Protein Silk Ampoule, Php 70.00

I haven’t done any procedure on my hair in a long time, but there are some days where I still find my hair looking damaged so I chose this product. It really makes a difference! My hair is thick and no matter how much I blow-dry or iron it, it still looks shaggy but after using this, I saw an improvement! I put some, massaging the product, especially on the ends and let my hair dry naturally. My hair turned out to be more tamed and softer. I’m definitely hoarding this on my next purchase! I just hope it’s still on sale by that time haha!

It’s My Magic Sponge, Php 100.00

I use BB cream instead of foundation and I prefer using a sponge/blender than my fingers. This is also one of the cheapest I’ve seen so far but you can also get one from Daiso for only Php 88.00.

April Skin Magic Snow Cushion, Php 650.00

This is the product that really made me decide on trying Althea. I have seen a lot of reviews on this one and being the lazy person that I am (I like make up but the process of putting is too long for me haha), this product appealed to me the most because of its full coverage promise. No need for concealers! And this product definitely did not disappoint! I love this product. And I really swear by this cushion. The full coverage is real and it gives the face a dewy finish, a must for Korean make up look! I will post a separate review of this product soon because it deserves one haha!

Elizavecca Skin Liar Primer, Php 240.00

I haven’t tried this but it was on sale so I decided to get one. As mentioned above, I'm kind of lazy when it comes to make up so this primer will make my make up stay longer, thus no need for touch ups haha!

Elizavecca Black Head Solution 3-Step Nose Pack, Php 300. 00 (Buy 5, Get 1)

I have been wanting to try a nose pack because every time I get stressed, blackheads around my nose area are the first things that pop on my face. This is the first thing that I tried upon receiving my package. One pack is divided into 3, 1st pack opens the pores, 2nd gets the blackheads/whiteheads, and 3rd pack closes the pore. I like it, but I’m not sure if it’s the most effective nose pack that Althea has to offer.

Tony Moly Tomatox, Php 380.00

I have been using this massage mask since college and it really made my skin look better, pimple marks disappear faster than regular facial masks and I fell like my face gets rejuvenated with each use. However, I would like to try a mud mask on my next purchase.

And brushes that my good friend Mac asked me to buy for her (so we can save up on shipping):

Angel Foundation Brush, Php 192.00 and It’s My Eyebrow Brush, Php 60. 00

Overall, I like my first Althea experience. Each product is thoroughly explained and there are reviews at the bottom of the page to help you decide if a product is worth it. I will definitely buy from them again because I seriously want to hoard CP -1 Protein Silk Ampoule and April Skin Magic Snow Cushion (which was at 50% discount at the time of purchase) and try other products like the CP -1 Raspberry Hair Vinegar Treatment, Apate Black Pack and many more!

I hope this blog post helps you decide to purchase some products from Althea! And as a gift, click on this link: EurekaErika Reward when you sign up to get additional Php 50.00 on your Php 300.00 new membership bonus! :)

Disclaimer: This is not sponsored. I just really love Korean products, especially when it comes to make - up and skin care because they're compatible with my skin.
