How I ended up getting an Asus Zenbook instead of a Macbook Air:
I've already planned getting a new laptop for the longest time. My first choice was really a Macbook Air due to its width and weight. I love how thin and light it was, really ideal for bringing it almost everywhere. But at the same time, I knew that there could be laptops of equal or lower prices that could offer the same or more qualities that I was looking for in a laptop.
I began my research by searching about the best laptops for 2015 and 2016. Among the lists I encountered, I ended up with Lenovo Yoga, Asus Zenbook UX series and Macbook Air. Lenovo Yoga was really nice, probably the best among all three choices but it was way over my budget. So I slimmed my choices between Asus Zenbook UX305 and Macbook Air, and coincidentally saw this ad by Asus (which directly compares the Zenbook and Mac Air): Your style, your ZenBook - ZenBook UX305 / ZenBook UX501 | ASUS. I immediately fell in love with the Zenbook, especially with it's all metal-finish in titanium gold (the exact color of the girl's laptop in the ad). However, even if I fell in love with the Zenbook that moment, I knew I had to dig deeper into its features as a responsible consumer.
These were the qualities I was looking for in a laptop:
Width - must be thin, not bulky
Weight - should be light
Battery - should last me a day max
USB ports - must be compatible with regular USB and has 2 ports the least
There are other features that I am not familiar with and had to ask my more techy friends for help but I still couldn't fully grasp what they were talking about. So again, thanks to Youtube, I found this really nice review about the Asus Zenbook UX305 compared to the newly released Macbook: Is the new Macbook Worth It? Ft. ASUS Zenbook UX305, which finally made me decide to get the Asus Zenbook UX305LA! Let me share some snaps of my Zenbook with you:

It's really hard to capture the exact color of the laptop.

The only thing I don't like so far with the Zenbook is that it lacks backlit keyboard which makes it harder to type in dark places.

Look at how thin it is!
From the review, you can clearly see how cheaper (and price-worthy!) the Zenbook is from the Macbook. However, sad to say, I think that only applies in America as the price of the Zenbook compared to the new Macbook and Macbook Air isn't much different here in our country. Overall, even with the small price difference, I still think that I made the right decision with the Asus Zenbook Ux305LA. I can truly say that I found zen with my choice and that choosing the Asus Zenbook is definitely a #EurekaErika moment!
